World Suicide Prevention Day
Tuesday, September 10th is recognized as World Suicide Prevention Day. We join organizations from around the world in showing support for suicide prevention and awareness.
Suicide prevention remains an ongoing challenge worldwide. Every year, suicide is among the top 20 leading causes of death globally for people of all ages. It is responsible for over 800,000 deaths, which equates to one suicide every 40 seconds (IASP).
On September 10th, join us at Kinniburgh Pond Park (across from East Lake School) in Chestermere or Prairie Grounds Cafe in Langdon for a candlelight vigil in support and remembrance.
For more resources on suicide prevention visit our Resource Page where you will find links to a number of centres and organizations that can provide help and support.
If you are having thoughts of suicide, or are supporting someone with thoughts of suicide, you are not alone. Help is available!
