In 2016, the City entered into a joint partnership with Synergy for the redevelopment of the green space at the corner of Rainbow Road and Chestermere Boulevard. In addition to the existing skate park, the new ReidBuilt Centre for Community Leadership (RCCL) provides space for local non-profit organizations such as Synergy. Other components of this redevelopment included the construction of a parking lot, pathways, and a sidewalk along Rainbow Road.
Funding for the new building and landscaping of the Park was funded by provincial grant money and generous donations from a number of individuals, companies and organizations.
Synergy’s passion and vision to provide a space that will cultivate the development of leadership in Chestermere, paired with the project management and expertise of City staff, has resulted in a City amenity that encourages unity and community spirit.
A Grand Opening event for the newly designed park will happen in September, 2017.
Please note the site is currently closed for construction work taking place.
